Mo Money, Mo Problems-- Notorious BIG

“Our administration is carefully analyzing the various funding streams to determine how Alaskans can benefit – while being mindful that we face budget shortfalls and don’t want to create new or expanded programs that we can’t pay for in the future." -Gov. Palin

After the election, Governor Palin returned to Alaska to continue her executive work as CEO of the state. I feel like we hear more about her poor children than we do her, which is a shame because she has continued to govern "The Last Frontier" with wisdom and integrity. The "official" State of Alaska website is brimming over with her recent news and activities
(http://www.gov.state.ak.us/news.php?id=1664) but I wanted to briefly highlight her reaction to the Fed's Stimulus package.

First, to be clear, Governor Palin does not technically "oppose" the stimulus package, because she is accepting money for her state. Even though a part of me wishes she would refuse any money out of principal, I understand that she is the elected representative of the tax-paying citizens of Alaska, and that she has to have their best interests at heart. However, Governor Palin has made it crystal clear that the money she will accept is going to be used for improving and creating infrastructure, rather than putting the funds toward special programs that the State wouldn't be able to afford once the federal money stops pouring in. What a BRILLIANT IDEA. As the governor said, "It's not fair to Alaskans to create expectations about programs that wouldn't be sustainable."

If we've learned anything over the past 6 months of fiscal chaos, it's that we should live within our means. Just as people shouldn't obligate themselves to a mortgage contract they cannot afford, so should states refrain from implementing programs they cannot sustain. I am glad Governor Palin, along with a short list of other Republican governors, is more or less sticking to her principals, even when it would seem easier to just take all the money and run with it. Doing what is right is not always easy, but luckily there are still a few good men (women) left in politics to set an example for everyone else.

A Little Love for SP

This gun-toting patriot had one question for Gov. Palin: "Will you be my Valentine?"

I love these 2012 designs by a Palin supporter, Jose Matos. Thanks for sending them, now we just need a printer!

Also, there's a great article about Palin/Jindal from a few months ago on the Reaganite Republican Resistance blog...enjoy!

Sen. Saxby Chambliss Wins!

And credits Governor Palin with firing up the base!

To read the full article, visit: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1208/16162.html

Fresh off his runoff victory Tuesday night, Georgia Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss credited Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin with firing up his base. “I can't overstate the impact she had down here,” Chambliss said during an interview Wednesday morning on Fox News. “When she walks in a room, folks just explode,” he added. “And they really did pack the house everywhere we went. She's a dynamic lady, a great administrator, and I think she's got a great future in the Republican Party.”

We already knew that!

Conservative. Mother. Moose Hunter. AUTHOR

Our favorite governor is reportedly being offered a book deal that could earn her $7 million. Yay Sarah! This will be a great opportunity for her to set the records straight, dissolve evil MSM rumors and hopefully show America why she is the one to lead us in 2012.

Can we pre-order a copy now?

And the winners are...

Out of all the entries for the Power of Palin, I actually couldn't pick ONE favorite, but I did narrow it down to my top three:
(Drumroll please)

1. The first winner is a Palin supporter who is part of an online knitting group. Members of the group were asked to crochet or knit a couple of squares for a handmade afghan that they sent to Sarah Palin on election day. The response was so massive that what started out as just one afghan turned into three afghans (one for Sarah, Trig, and Bristol), four pillows, and several potholders. This Palin supporter actually created the Republican Elephant pattern that you can view at her craft blog: http://craftingwithcathair.blogspot.com/2008/09/another-freebie-for-you.html
They look amazing! Way to go!

2. Another favorite was this couple who dressed as Palin and McCain for Halloween. They strutted their stuff amidst a somewhat liberal crowd, but ended up winning "Best Costume" at their party. I think this Palin supporter makes a great Governor Palin, and she seems to have her wink down pat! Great job, guys.

3. My last favorite was a set of television ads created by the "Our Country Deserves Better Committee" to honor and thank Governor Palin. According to this Palin supporter, the "Our Country Deserves Better Committee" is raising money between now and next Wednesday to purchase as much airtime for the ads as possible. To learn more visit: http://www.OurCountryDeservesBetter.com/ :

Thanks to all the other emails--it is nice to know Governor Palin has such great and creative supporters. I even received emails from people in Europe who appreciate the values and leadership of Sarah Palin. One in particular, an Italian Palin supporter, wrote, "I support Palin for President 2012, but I hope will be new election in 2010 for USA President, I hope Palin President 2010."

Don't we all?

Transcript of RGA Speech

"We're looking now at an American people having to work for their government instead of our government working for the people. And enough -- enough of that.

All of this must change if we are to lead again in Washington, in changing Washington for the better. So in the months ahead, let us build our case with actions and not just words. Let us reclaim our good name as the party of spending restraint and limited government and economic opportunity and personal freedom and responsibility and American tradition. Let us be true to our beliefs, strong in the defense of the weak, unafraid to speak for American ideals, and firm in our support for the men and women who defend those ideals in a dangerous world. And in all that we do, let us carry ourselves with good will and confidence and with a servant's heart. Let's lead by example."

What a gal! Check out the rest of her speech:

The Power of Palin

One of the purposes of this blog, and I'm sure others like it, is to assure sensible conservatives around the country that they are not alone. We may not be the obnoxious party, but the United States is still full of God fearin', gun totin' patriotic Americans--people who believe in small government, lower taxes, and the freedom to make choices for themselves. There are also many of us who deeply desire a candidate who is full of integrity and is not part of the "Washington Elite"...someone a little like you and me.

I thought it might be fun to see what all of y'all out there have done to show your support for Governor Palin. I will post some of the best ones soon. Did you dress up as Palin for Halloween, carve her face in a pumpkin, or completely cover your yard or car with Palin signs? Did you plow her face in a corn field?
(Wheeler Farms near Toledo, Ohio)

Did you show your support in other ways? Send me the best pictures you have or even personal stories about Palin and your support for her.
Submit your photos or stories to: palin4pres2012@gmail.com.
Have fun!

Palin at the RGA

Governor Palin is again showing what a great leader she can be. At the Republican Governors Association Annual Conference she spoke about the responsibility governors have to check the power of the dems in Washington. Here is an article from Townhall about her speech there...enjoy!

Sarah Palin Not Interested in Running for Senate

Huzzah! Sarah Palin said yesterday that she prefers her current position as Governor in Alaska. I think this is a smart move for Sarah and I've been secretly hoping all along that she would not run for the Senate. I want her to stay as far from "Washington" as possible, and instead focus on doing good in Alaska (like building that pipeline!) and furthering herself in the Republican party.

Here's a link to the article where she made the above-noted announcement:

Great WSJ article. Check it out:

Stayin Classy, that Sarah

When CNN calls the claims against Palin "lies", you know there's a problem. For nearly three months now we have witnessed an utter onslaught by the media on Governor Sarah Palin. They have maliciously attacked her family and her life achievements, all the while virtually ignoring every gaffe (and there were many) and misstep that took place on the other side.

But now individuals have gone beyond the disgrace we've come to expect of the MSM. They have tried to pummel her character and her capacities, and it's more than any decent person should have to endure.

What has the Governor done to deserve this kind of treatment? If these anonymous, alleged McCain staffers really want to get back at her because some suggest she lost Mac the election, think again. She was the reason his campaign even existed by the time election day rolled around. (I'm still waiting for a statement from the Mac himself, denouncing these fools...he owes it to Sarah, for starters.) If, as Matt Lewis suggested, the anonymous slanderers' loyalties lie behind another Republican candidate for 2012, and therefore they are acting out of fear and calculating desperation, then they are idiots. Despite the name and purpose of this blog, in actuality my real focus now is on 2010, and any conservative who wishes to see the Republican party back on it's feet would do well to look ahead to 2010 first.

Regardless of these coward's real motives though, Sarah Palin never ceases to amaze me. A dose of her combination of grit and grace is exactly what Washington needed. Governor Palin continues to show how classy she is in every interview I've seen since the election. Lucky Alaska--shoot, if I was Sarah I would go back to Alaska and stay there, and tell the "Lower 48" to take a hike...but they won't be allowed to hike in beautiful Alaska!

A New Day

I was a little bitter last night. But sometimes all you need is a good night's sleep to give you a fresh perspective on the world around you. Aside from the fact that against my wishful thinking we saw this one coming, here is why I am OK and maybe the slightest bit relieved that Nobama won:

1. The Republican Party truly had lost it's way. When Bush was first elected and the republicans were in charge, not much on their agendas were done. Now we're in an economic recession, we're fighting two wars, and spending has gone out of control. These next few years will be a golden opportunity for the party to regroup and refocus on Small Government and a powerful (yet ideally uninvolved) military.

2. The Republican Party saw an emergence of new leadership. From my obvious Femme Favourite, Sarah Palin, to Mitt Romney, Bobby Jindal, Michael Steele, Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee (Hey, at least he has convictions and can energize the evangelicals...and he's pretty funny.) we've got some pretty talented people at our helm that I know are capable of bringing back the spirit of Reagan to the party.

3. Bush will no longer be the scapegoat for everyone's problems. From his causing Hurricane Katrina, to the now global recession that is also supposedly his fault, I'm looking forward to a new group of leaders to blame for everything. I really think that years out, people will look back and realize he was not nearly as bad of a president as everyone labeled him. In fact, many will probably even miss him...

4. Ultimately, I want America to flourish more than I want any one party in control to be responsible for it. Although I do have actual fear and dread over losing many of our liberties, and I feel like our national security is at real risk, hopefully Barry (Out of respect I'll stop using Nobama and Hussein) will prove me wrong, and will be bipartisan in improving our situation.

All I'm Saying is Sarah Palin 2012!

Tuesday

Just Don't Say I Didn't Warn You

I'm not going to go on and on in the form of "Debbie Downer" or "Negative Nancy". I will simply say this: If America doesn't want control of their 401k's, the existence of Talk Radio, a balance of power on Capitol Hill, energy independence, lower taxes, a system where hard work is rewarded...and if you enjoy communism, race baiting America-haters, and having someone as leader of the free world who has never had any executive experience-- then you made the right choice.

And apparently, America has spoken:

Just Don't Say I Didn't Warn You.

Where can one find solace in the future of our country?

Sarah Palin in 2012.

Hopeful in North Carolina

I saw this on http://mccainpalin2008.blogspot.com/ and it brings me joy to muse:

Palin Cleared

And it's no surprise to us!
Now a little inspirational quotation:
"You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn. You cannot build character and courage by taking away a person’s initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves."
Fight for our liberties and our pursuit of happiness, and get out there and vote McCain/Palin!

Monday

5 Reasons NOT to Vote for Nobama

1. Say "Goodbye" to financial independence.
Like the idea of the Feds taking over your 401k? After what they've already done with Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, I can't think of much worse.

2. B. Hussein is COMPLETELY COMFORTABLE with the COAL INDUSTRY going BANKRUPT. Did you hear that WV, OH, PA? Cling to your coal!

3. Protect our basic, Constitutional rights--including the right to bear arms to protect our families

4. We want victory in the Middle East, not defeat. We cannot have a man as commander in chief, who describes our valiant soldiers as "air raiding villages and killing civilians".

5. He voted 4 times against saving babies who survive an abortion. He has no reverence for the sanctity of life
(I was going to stop at 5, but I can't)
6. Charitable? Look at his aunt who lives in the Boston slums, or his brother who lives in a hut in Kenya. If he claims to be all about charity and unselfishness, how about start with your OWN FAMILY Nobama?
7. "Be careful the environment you choose for it will shape you; be careful the friends you choose for you will become like them." W. Clement Stone.
Look at his associations over the years: Convicted felon Tony Rezko. Unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers. And the race-baiting Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
If he didn't have the courage to walk away from Rev. Wright's church over all those years, what makes anyone think he has the integrity or courage to be our President?
8. He is a chump! Nobama thinks the economy grows from the ground up, and that the consequences of his Wealth Redistribution policies is nothing more than "chump change".
We only have one day left. Think carefully about the "change" he wants to bring to America. If you appreciate LIBERTY and do not want more greedy government hands in your wallet, vote McCain/Palin tomorrow.

The Constitution...Hanging By a Thread

This article, another by that same democrat I encouraged you to read in a prior post, has done it again. It's both brilliant and scary. Please read and circulate.

This election is more than a contest between two senators--it is a fight for our Constitution and for our liberty.

Saturday

Inches Away from Our Next Vice President

Over the weekend I was finally able to go see Sarah Palin in person! Thanks to some dear friends, we got VIP passes and were RIGHT in front where Governor Palin walked out. I could touch the stage! This was basically one of the happiest nights in my life.

Governor Palin did an excellent job, as she always does. She mostly focused on taxes, highlighting how Nobama's tax "plan" (if you can call it a plan) would be detrimental to small businesses. She seemed notably relaxed and at ease, and was even more beautiful in person.
She is such a natural, and although I was definitely energized by her optimism and that of the huge crowd of people all around me, there's one other thing I am sure of: If this election falls into the hands of B. Hussein, you have NOT seen the end of Sarah Palin. She was born to represent regular Americans and was born to be a leader of this great country.
Palin reminded everyone at the rally: "It's the far-left wing of the Democratic party that is preparing to take over your entire federal government."
Please, every sensible person who reads this--we only have 3 days left to convince our liberal, idiot associates that the hope and progress of America is only safe if McCain and Palin make it to Washington. We cannot allow Nobama, Pelosi and Reid to be at the head of our country.
Here's a link to the speech she gave at the rally I attended:

President Palin...what a nice ring

It's official...the Palin for President in 2012 Express is gaining some momentum!
Check out this column by Matt Lewis at Townhall.com:
The fight for 2008 isn't over mind you, but I'm glad we're not the only ones who see the potential Palin has in restoring the Republican party and in becoming our pick for 2012.
